About Us |
This web site is looked after by me - Steve Bishop. I've been a laryngectomee since February 2001 and I feel it's time that I put something back after benefiting from other people's time and effort.
I mentioned this site to a friend and she said that it sounds good because you can read it a number of ways
When I set out with the idea of this web site I had more than just the Laryngectomee in mind. I have a family and plenty of friends who are more than passive onlookers yet are unable to really empathise with a laryngectomee. Part of it is obvious - they don't live it - but the other part is simply education. So this site hopes to explain and illustrate what we are about.
So that is the big picture for this site. Not only is there information for all there is a forum too that you can join to ask and respond to questions. Make the most of us and I'm sure it will help you. Many people have real concerns and we hope to help them feel better.
Over time more bits and pieces will be added to this site so, hopefully, it will become an invaluable resource. So keep it bookmarked and check it out regularly. There is an 'Email Us' button in the menu above so you can email us with any question or comments. We would love to hear from you so feel free to use it.
Also make the most of and participate in the forums. They are for you! They only take a few minutes to understand and don't worry about breaking them as they are pretty resilient. Just click your way around them and read what other people have said or asked. If you wish to add something to the forums you will have to register. Simply go the the forums by clicking on the button at the top of this page and then click the 'Register' link at the top right of the forum page. It doesn't take long and you will be a full member able to read and post. We look forward to hearing from you.
